Armauer Hansen Research Institute (AHRI) was founded in 1970 through the initiative of the Norwegian and Swedish Save the Children organizations seconded by the Ministry of Health of Ethiopia. The Institute got its name from the Norwegian physician, Gerhard Henrik Armauer Hansen, who first described the leprosy bacillus (Mycobacterium leprae). AHRI reorganized by the decree of the Council of Minister’s Regulation No. 376/2016 as biomedical research, clinical trial and research capacity building under the Federal Ministry of Health. AHRI, over its 50 years in service, is well known for its hub function for skill and technology transfer and partnership embracing research agendas with direct impact in the development and transformation of population in Ethiopia and beyond

Job Position – Junior Human Resource Management expert

Required Qualification and Experience
Education: Degree in Human Resource Management ,Management, Business Management only
CGPA 3.00 and above for male applicants and 2.75 and above for female applicants
Experience: zero /0/ year

Job Purpose
To support the CHRMEO in ensuring that we have sufficient employees of the right caliber to meet strategic HR ambitions. This will be achieved by providing a proactive, high quality and people-centered human resources service for AHRI across the full employment life cycle

Knowledge and skills

Up to date working knowledge of employment legislation.
Excellent interpersonal skills based on trust and integrity
Ability to retain professional boundaries whilst working closely and effectively with a highly skilled and multicultural workforce
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good understanding of, and the ability to apply, the principles of confidentiality
Good IT skills, including the development of HR databases, Word, Excel, Power point and Outlook.
Ability to prioritize and manage own workload
Proven ability to work both independently and productively as part of a team
Good understanding and application of the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion in an HR context

Terms of Employment:  One year contract period with full time employment basis with possible extension based on performance and budget availability.
