Aussie – Ethio Creative Challenge
Are you an Ethiopian or Australian creative looking for a platform to showcase your talent? The Aussie-Ethio Creative Challenge is here to provide you with just that!
In Celebration of World Creativity and Innovation Day, this exciting prize competition is open to all Ethiopian and Australian creatives aged 18-35 and offers a platform to showcase their skills in any artistic medium, for instance through short stories, poetry, art, short films, and photography.
Participants will be prompted to submit works that relate to one of three important themes: green innovation or sustainability; gender equality; and trade and the global economy and must showcase a link between Australia and Ethiopia. The submissions will be evaluated on their creativity, originality, and relevance to the chosen theme.

Objectives
The primary objectives of the Aussie-Ethio Challenge are to:
Empower and inspire young creatives from all backgrounds
Foster cultural exchange and collaboration between Ethiopia and Australia, and celebrate the unique voices and perspectives of young people
Showcase the immense talent of creatives to a global audience
Promote Australia’s national interests such as sustainable development, gender equality and fair trade, and encourage creative solutions to these issues
Encourage cultural exchange between Australia and Ethiopia
Eligibility Criteria
Open to Australians and Ethiopians
Aged between 18-35 years old
A creative, photographer, storyteller, or artist
Passionate about Ethiopia-Australia relations
Entries must be original and not published anywhere else
One entry only please
The participants must consent to having their artistic work published on the Australian Embassy, Ethiopia Social Media pages.
A panel of judges will evaluate the entries and select the top three submissions for each theme. The finalists will be invited to attend an award ceremony in May.
Judging Criteria
Entries will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
Creativity and Originality (25%)
Clarity and Coherence (25%)
Relevance to the Chosen Theme (25%)
Overall Quality of the Submission (25%)
The judges will be looking for submissions that demonstrate a deep understanding of the theme, provide new insights, and showcase the participant’s artistic abilities.
The winners will be selected based on the judges’ scores
