Job Position – SME Digital Marketing and Customer Acquisition Consultant (m/f)
Required Qualification and Experience
Education: University Degree in Marketing/sales or any other related fields;
Experience: More than three years of relevant professional experience in digital marketing and customer acquisition;
Proven experience in creating successful customer acquisition for digital platforms (reference list);
Extensive track record in launching social media marketing campaigns on Facebook, Instagram, etc.
Ability to place Ads and implement customer acquisition activities on international social media platforms
Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks;
Fluent in English and Amharic;
Very good writing and reporting skills in English.
GIZ has been commissioned to implement the project “Private Sector Development in Ethiopia” (PSD-E). PSD-E aims to benefit small and medium-sized enterprises, start-ups and small growth-oriented companies from improved growth opportunities. The target groups are owners and employees of SMEs, start-ups and small growth-oriented companies. This shall be achieved through five Outputs: (1) Institutional, human resource and technical strengthening of relevant public institutions, (2) Capacity enhancement of chambers and associations, (3) Strengthening the capacities and services of intermediaries in the innovation ecosystem, (4) Strengthening the capacity of private & public business development service providers, (5) Direct support to MSMEs and entrepreneurs affected by conflicts and crises.
sequa implements Output 5 of the PSD-E project. The general objective of the intervention is to address the needs of the population affected by the crises by creating or securing employment and income prospects through business recovery and continuity support of Ethiopian SMEs from affected regions. Moreover, the support will provide access for the population to cost-effective, environmental and climate-friendly and qualitatively appropriate products and services targeting basic foods, WASH, logistics, transport and ICT sectors.
The intervention measure primarily targets SMEs with high growth and employment potential, employing typically between 10 to 50 employees. They must already be established in the local market and offer access to helpful consumer goods or services the crisis-affected population needs. SMEs with more youth, women, and IDPs/Returnees employees are given priority.
Teret Storytelling Platform (teret.net) is a web-based application called Teret (Amharic for Storytelling) that provides quality story content for customers and aims to positively impact, predominantly crisis-affected people in a fun and straightforward manner, changing the views and distorted perceptions of historical, cultural and current facts, especially in the young generation and also provides them with the voice and understanding of what they went through. Their story will serve as a testament to difficult times and inspire people to change their current manners of living.
Storytelling has become a powerful way to engage, educate and entertain audiences. The Teret Storytelling Platform is designed to make it easier for creators to tell their stories and get their work in front of an audience. After the recent wars and turmoil, people have gone through many psychological and physical traumas. The aim is to improve listeners’ state of mind by offering localised stories from the different nations and tribes in Ethiopia.
Storytelling has been part of human culture since the dawn of time. It is a powerful tool for preserving culture and giving everyone a voice, regardless of background or status. Storytelling allows people to escape the mundane and discover new worlds and ideas. As a result, people must promote storytelling in our society so that we can continue to benefit from its rich cultural heritage. Furthermore, by encouraging storytelling, we can ensure that everyone has a platform to express themselves and share their unique experiences with the rest of the world.
The platform is conceptualised as audio and video streaming. Stories and tales will be uploaded by freelancers and artists who will gain feedback from their audience and receive payment depending on the number of listeners. The main target groups are children, parents, and people who love to tell and listen to stories. The platform’s revenue model is subscription-based, using the value-added service (VAS) service of Ethio Telecom and other payment options like TeleBirr and CBE Birr.
Scope of the Assignment
The scope of this assignment is to provide support for one SME in the ICT sector to improve their capability of digital marketing and customer acquisition.
