Job Position-Senior Accountant
Required Qualification and Experience
Education:Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
ACCA, CPA, or equivalent professional certification (strongly preferred).
Experience:Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a car import, automotive import, or vehicle distribution company (mandatory).
Demonstrated experience handling LC-based import accounting, customs duty accounting, and bonded warehouse financial records.
Proven track record managing MINISTRY OF REVENU tax filings, VAT, withholding tax, and corporate tax in Ethiopia.
Experience with foreign currency accounting and NBE foreign exchange compliance.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in accounting software (Peachtree, QuickBooks, SAP, or equivalent).
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax law, customs regulations, and NBE foreign exchange directives.
What Makes a Standout Candidate
➤ Prior experience in a vehicle import company with direct exposure to multi-shipment LC cycles.
➤ Understanding of EV-specific import classification and duty structures.
➤ Experience working with bonded warehouse inventory and deferred duty accounting.
➤ Familiarity with SACCO/MFI-linked vehicle financing transactions.
