Job Position -Import Officer
Required Qualification and Experience
Education:Bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, International Trade, or a related field.
Preferably 1–3 years of relevant import experience.
Practical knowledge of Ethiopian import procedures, banking documentation, and customs clearance.
Strong communication, follow-up, and organisational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ERP experience is an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate with banks, shipping lines, freight forwarders, and customs clearing agents.
Prepare and verify relevant import documents, including pro forma invoices, commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
Follow up on import permits, letters of credit, payment arrangements, and banking requirements.
Track shipments and coordinate timely clearance and delivery.
Monitor import costs, maintain accurate records, and provide regular shipment updates.
Work closely with procurement, finance, and warehouse teams to resolve issues and avoid delays.
Salary: Negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
