Required qoulification and Exeprience
Education:Masters’ or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
Work experience required:Seven years and above work experience in shipping , logistics and transportation industry, with at least three years in a managerial role.
Experience in managing international shipments and understanding of global logistics and shipping regulations
Familiarity with advanced shipping software and technologies

Job purpose
To oversee , manage and coordinate the effective flow of shipping operations through scheduling and coordinating cargo reservations and port operations ensuring international shipping and transportation guidelines. The manager’s role is to optimize logistics efficiency , enhance customer satisfaction and revenue improvement through effective planning operations and interfacing with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and coordinate the transportation of goods , container loading/ unloading , routing port scheduling in adherence to global standards
Optimize logistics process in shipment bookings , route planning, container usage , coordinate and tracking of container movements
Manages safe , efficient and balanced capacity aspects of FCL,LCL, consolidation , scheduling multi-modal transport integration of shipments
Plan efficient routes and reduce transit time expenses
Ensuring compliance of applicable regulations , port authority regulations and environmental safety standards
Maintain timely communication , resolving conflicts and service level agreements
Monitor freight charges/costs , demurrage / dispatch charges and profitability
Manage budgets and negotiate contracts with shipping carriers and vendors
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including customs and import/export requirements.
Strategize new trade routes, strategic partnerships
Ensure shipping and transportation documentation accuracy and regulatory compliance
Enforce strong and strict compliance with international trade laws, customs regulations and procedures, documentations at both import and export ends
Develop shipment status , KPIs and department performance reports for executive management review and decisions
Track shipments and update internal databases with tracking information.
Communicate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to resolve shipping issues and ensure smooth delivery of products
Ensure compliance with shipping industry regulations and company policies and stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in shipping and logistics
Team Leadership & Development
Supervise and train shipping employees, providing guidance and performance feedback
Develop and implement shipping policies and procedures to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Act as a liaison between management, carriers, and shipping customers.
Collaborate with internal departments to optimize the flow of orders from preparation to shipment
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
Evaluate carrier performance and resolve issues with orders and logistics
Document processes and report to management as required
Review and analyze shipping data, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions
Work environment
Office based with frequent visits to clients

Proficiency in knowledge of logistics , transportation and freight Intercoms and documentation and international shipping regulations
Ability to use technology shipping software, transport management systems, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) in tracking shipments including maintaining and issuing electronic documentations and online booking platforms
Budgeting, forecasting and setting KPIs for shipping operations
Maintaining excellent customer services , responding to inquires promptly and addressing any issues or complaints effectively and on timely manner
Identifying and mitigating potential risks in delays, damages and losses
Sound management of client relationships
Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
