The Well in Action (TWA) is an Ethiopian Resident Charity Organization. TWA intervention in Ethiopia is to contribute to sustainable improvement of living conditions of the small holder farmers and deprived people. This can be achieved by performing projects which focus on improving agricultural productivity, and stimulating entrepreneurship that are implemented both in rural and urban contexts.

Job Position 1 – Accountant

Required Qualification and Experience
Education:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience:Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in accounting or finance

Technical Skills:
Proficiency in accounting software (Peachtree or QuickBooks) and MS Office applications.
Proficiency in using computer applications like Ms-word, Ms-excel etc
Knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles.
Good knowledge of IPSAS is preferable
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficiency in English and Amharic languages.

Responsibilities and tasks:
Handle cash transactions, including receiving and disbursing funds.
Maintain accurate cash registers and reconcile cash balances.
Prepare cash reports and ensure proper documentation.
Monitor and manage petty cash funds.
Process invoices, payments, and receipts.
Maintain accurate records of accounts receivable and payable.
Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports.
Assist in ensuring compliance with financial policies, regulations, and procedures.
Assist in internal and external audits.
Provide support in implementing financial policies and procedures.
Collaborate with the finance team in budgeting and forecasting processes.
Support the preparation of donor financial reports.
Duration: One Year (Possibility of Extension)

Job Position 2 – Senior Finance And Admin Officer

Required Qualification and Experience
Education:MA/BA Degree in Accounting, Accounting and Finance and related field.
Experience:A minimum of 4 years for MA and 5 years for BA and at least three years’ work experience in the NGO sector is preferable

Skills:
A strong financial and accounting skill, experience using IPSAS reporting is desired.
Advanced Computer skills.
Project Budget mapping and implementation, strong technical skills in accounting, and experience in proper documentation and organization of financial documents
Excellent organizational and communication skills, with close attention to detail.
Practical experience and awareness on procurement, financial laws and labour rules and donor’s requirement.
Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines.
Team sprit with other staff.
Experience in Peachtree Accounting or QuickBooks software ismandatory.
Proficiency in English and Amharic is mandatory

Responsibilities and tasks:
Ensures that financial systems and documents are in compliance with laws, policies, standards and regulations and with generally accepted accounting principles, and practices or IPSAS;
Reviews requests from projects and staffs for payment, ensures that appropriate supporting documentation is present and forwards the request to the donors;
Prepares annual and quarterly budget
Review the financial reports from projects for correctness and compliance in accordance with the finance manual, and the donor policies, procedures and guidelines;
Ensures all collections are properly recorded and deposited to the project account;
Review the monthly payroll for the Head Office staff;
Prepares quarterly, biannual and financial report to be submitted to the Executive Director and Donors for monitoring, follow up and decision-making purposes.
Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements and regulations.
Monitor expenses and ensure adherence to budgetary limits.
Conduct periodic financial reviews to ensure compliance.
Implement and enforce financial policies and procedures.
Manage cash flow and ensure adequate funds are available for operational needs.
Monitor and reconcile bank accounts, including cash receipts and disbursements.
Prepare cash flow projections and financial forecasts.
Develop and maintain financial systems and processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Implement and utilize financial software and tools effectively.
Provide guidance and support to staff on financial matters.
Support the recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
Maintain personnel records and handle employee relations matters.
Ensure compliance with procurement regulations.
Monitor and maintain records of organizational assets.
Provide general administrative support.
Maintain accurate records for personnel and procurement.
Duration: One Year (Possibility of Extension)
