Job Position-Senior Accountant-External/Internal(Readvertised)
Required Qualification and Experience
Education:Master’s Degree/BA Degree in Accounting, Management, Economics or other Business-related fields
Experience:With 5 years of relevant work experience, including at least 1 year in a Jr. Accountant ( Jr. Finance officer) role within a bank, specifically in the Finance & Accounts department.
Job Summary
Record and post daily financial transactions (cash, bank, vouchers, receipts, and treasury-related entries) accurately in the Core Banking System (CBS).
Prepare and process payment vouchers, journal entries, and supporting documentation in accordance with internal procedures.
Reconcile general ledger accounts, subsidiary ledgers, and treasury accounts regularly to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Monitor daily cash positions, interbank transactions, and investment activities, ensuring proper documentation and optimal liquidity management.
Prepare tax schedules (VAT, withholding tax, pension, and other statutory deductions) and support timely regulatory filings in compliance with National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE) directives and tax laws.
Maintain proper filing and custody of financial and treasury documents, vouchers, and supporting records to ensure strong internal controls and audit readiness.
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, regulatory reports, and management reports, including supporting schedules and reconciliations.
Provide technical and operational support during internal and external audits by organizing and submitting required financial documents and explanations.
Monitor outstanding balances, funding requirements, and pending transactions to ensure timely settlement and accurate reporting.
Assist the Senior accounting staff in ensuring compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
Perform any other related accounting, treasury, or financial duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor
