Job Position -Senior Accountant
Required Qualification and Experience
Education:Bachelor’s Degree (BA) in Accounting and Finance from a recognized university.
Experience: Minimum total experience of 5–7 years out of this minimum 3-4 years in senior level in Import/Export Company.
B. Technical Competencies
Taxation: Deep knowledge of the Ethiopian tax Law.
IFRS Knowledge: Practical experience in implementing IFRS for SMEs or Full IFRS is mor advantageous.
Software Proficiency: skills in Peachtree, Microsoft Office (Specially Word and Excel) and Experience in Odoo ERP System is Mor Advantageous.
C. Soft Skills
Leadership: Ability to lead and review the work of junior staff with integrity and professional ethics.
Communication: Excellent command of English (American standard preferred) and Amharic, both written and verbal.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in complex financial calculations and costings.
Key Responsibilities
Bank Reconciliation and ledger maintenance
Reporting & Compliance: Prepare accurate interim reports
Tax Management: Ensure timely and accurate filing of Monthly Tax Returns (VAT, Withholding, Employment Income Tax, and Pension) in compliance with ERCA regulations.
Import/Export Accounting: Handle financial documentation related to Letter of Credit (LC), CAD, and Franco Valuta. Manage cost build-ups for imported medical equipment and spare parts.
Inventory & Asset Management: Oversee the accounting for medical equipment inventory, installation costs, and maintenance service revenues in partnership.
Audit Facilitation: Lead the year-end external audit process and ensure all reconciliations are completed.
Supervision: Provide technical guidance and mentorship for accountants under the Finance Department.
Perform other related activities when needed
