Its country office in Ethiopia, Good Neighbors Ethiopia (GNE) began operations in Ethiopia in 1997 and has since implemented multi-sectorial programs throughout the country. GNE currently manages, among other things, education, water and sanitation, health, climate change, child-focused community development, and emergency relief and rehabilitation programs. It employs over 108 people in five regions: Sidama, Oromia, SNNRS, Benishangul-Gumuz, and Amhara.

Job position -Accountant
Required Qualification and Experience
Education:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance.
Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is a plus.
Skills:
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
Knowledge of administrative procedures, office management, and HR practices.
Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Additional Qualifications (Preferred):
Experience with payroll systems and tax compliance.
Familiarity with grant management and donor reporting (for NGO or project-based environments).
Familiarity with data protection and confidentiality regulations.
Experience:Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a finance role, ideally within a similar industry.
Previous experience in managing office operations, bookkeeping, and payroll functions.
Experience with financial planning, budgeting, and monthly/annual financial reporting.
Proven track record of managing procurement, vendor relationships, and office supplies.

The Accountant handles budgeting, financial reporting, payment, procurement, and compliance, while also overseeing general office administration, HR support, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of maintaining confidentiality while ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all tasks.
