Ethio Wetlands and Natural Resources Association (EWNRA) is an Ethiopian Residents Charity Organization, non-political, non-religious and not-for-profit LNGO working in areas of sustainable wetland/ natural resources management and livelihoods improvement with the aim to achieve the dual goals of environment and development in Ethiopia.

EWNRA is looking to hire professionals to fill the Cashier/Accountant vacant posts for the project entitled: REDD+ Participatory Forest Management (PFM) Project Phase III being implemented in Southwest Ethiopia.

Job Position -CASHIER /ACCOUNTANT

Required Qualification and Experience
Education:BA or Diploma in accounting/related field from recognized University/ College with Experience :minimum of two years and four years work experience respectively. Demonstrated extensive knowledge in appropriate software such as Peachtree accounting software is required.

Additional Requirements
Knowledge of working area language will be an advantage.
Must be able to work independently and have personal ability to work in team
Good ability both in spoken and written English
Working experience with NGOs is advantageous.

Duties and responsibilities

Under the supervision of and reporting to the Finance and Administrative Officer based in Mizan Project Office, the Cashier/Accountant will have the following duties and responsibilities:
The Cashier/accountant is expected to check the bills: verify the amounts, the periods and analyze the documents, to manage and follow up repayments of advances, loans etc. Maintain the daily books of accounts in the cashbooks, collects and prepares/ review bank reconciliation statement. Prepare monthly cash flow, keep financial documents in a safe place, follow up record and maintain fixed assets register. Prepare payroll and ensure monthly payment to the staff, monitor and evaluate financial utilization of the project, review all payment against the budget in sub office, handle petty cash and report weekly petty cash balance for proper management. Timely submit the project financial document to Liquidation purpose.
